Connect Group executed the internal and external regulatory inspection scope for Gas Oil Tank 20D-58 during a planned outage.
Constructed in 1994, the API 650 storage tank (40 ft diameter × 60 ft height) required full draining, cleaning, inspection preparation, and mechanical reinstatement to support regulatory compliance and continued safe operation. The scope included tank draining support, system blinding, confined-space entry preparation, and hazardous sludge removal.
CGI completed tank cleaning, sandblasting of the floor to enable inspection, and coordinated temporary gas detection and confined-space monitoring systems throughout the outage. Mechanical activities included procurement and installation of materials, piping modifications, insulation removal and reinstatement, and execution of tank repairs as defined by the approved engineering scope.
Following completion of inspection and repair activities, all documentation was red-lined and compiled into turnover packages to support regulatory verification and return-to-service.
Outcome:
✔ API 650 inspection and compliance verification
✔ Tank cleaning and sludge removal completed
✔ Mechanical repairs and piping modifications executed
✔ Insulation removal and reinstatement completed
✔ Full QA documentation and turnover delivered
