Suncor North Tank Farm: 20D-11

Connect Group executed a full inspection, cleaning, and repair scope on Tank 20D-11 to restore integrity and support continued safe operation.

The project began with controlled tank draining and hazardous waste removal, followed by internal cleaning and preparation to enable inspection in accordance with API 653 standards. CGI supported blinding, gas detection, ventilation, and supplied air systems to ensure safe entry and execution during the outage.

Following inspection, the team completed structural and mechanical repairs including floor plate replacement, roof repairs, annular plate replacement, and internal coating remediation. Additional upgrades included installation of a new radar level transmitter and upgraded level switch instrumentation.

The scope also included tank preparation for inspection through floor sandblasting, structural cleaning of shell and framing, explosion vent replacement or upgrade, and final de-blinding and reinstatement of the system.

All work was executed with strict safety controls, ventilation management, and hazardous waste handling protocols to support safe tank entry and efficient outage execution.
